Naturally Fresh Multi-Cat Clumping Litter Review (2027)
Research review of Naturally Fresh Multi-Cat litter: walnut shell odor neutralization, silica-dust-free granules, and multi-cat positioning from the brand.
Naturally Fresh Multi-Cat Clumping Litter
Walnut shells that neutralize ammonia odor naturally, in a formula made for multiple cats.
Our verdict
Naturally Fresh Multi-Cat is the plant-based multi-cat option with a real mechanism: walnut shells that neutralize ammonia rather than masking it with fragrance. Add a silica-dust-free formula and it earns its place beside the clay benchmarks for shared trays.
What we like
- Walnut shells neutralize ammonia odor organically, without perfumes, per the brand
- The brand's own comparison chart positions the Multi-Cat formula for families with multiple cats
- Free of harmful silica dust per the product description, a low-dust advantage over clay
- Quick-clumping and unscented, made from a renewable walnut shell supply
What to watch out for
- Walnut granules feel different from clay and some cats need a gradual transition
- Clumps are less rock-hard than premium clay formulas
- The natural walnut scent is noticeable to some owners, and brown granules show on pale floors

Who it is for
Multi-cat homes avoiding fragrance and silica dust, and owners who prefer a renewable, walnut-based litter.
Odor control by chemistry, not perfume
The brand's case rests on walnut shells' ability to neutralize ammonia odors organically. In a multi-cat tray, ammonia is the smell that builds between scoops, so the mechanism targets the right problem.
Being unscented also avoids the fragrance-driven avoidance that scented litters can trigger in shared boxes.
Dust and the silica question
The product description highlights a formula free of harmful silica dust, which is the dust concern most often raised about clay litters. For owners choosing on respiratory comfort, that is a material difference, not a marketing shade.
Walnut granules are also coarser than fine clay, which changes tracking behavior rather than eliminating it.
Clumping and transition honesty
Quick-clumping walnut forms scoopable clumps, but they do not set as hard as the best clay in this guide, and rough scooping breaks more of them. Cats raised on clay may also need a gradual mix-in transition to the new texture and natural scent.
Owners who accept those two trades get the odor and dust profile they came for.
