Hammocks
Camping hammocks ranked on comfort, weight, and bug protection.
A camping hammock is a sleep system, not a lounger: hung at the right sag it sleeps flatter and cooler than any tent, and it needs under-insulation because air circulates beneath you. The specs that matter are hammock length and width, fabric denier and stretch, weight capacity, and whether a bug net and suspension are included.
The ten hammocks below span backyard-and-basecamp doubles, integrated bug-net backpacking models, and cottage-maker designs that serious hang campers swear by. Lengths and capacities are manufacturer figures; as a rule, campers sleep flattest in hammocks 11 feet and longer.
