Car Sun Shades

A sun shade has one job measured two ways: how much heat and UV it keeps out of a parked car, and whether you will actually use it every day. Coverage decides the first: a custom-fit shade that seals the windshield edge to edge outperforms a universal shade with glowing gaps. Habit decides the second: a shade that stores in a door pocket gets used; a rigid board that lives in the trunk gets used on weekends, at first.

The ten shades below are all sold on Amazon, split between windshield shades for the parked car and side-window shades, several designed for babies and kids in rear seats. We weighted real coverage, deployment speed, and storage size over marketing temperature claims, which are measured under conditions no dashboard has ever met.
