Anti-Theft Backpacks (2027)

Security features only help if you match them to the theft you actually face. Slash-proof panels and straps answer a knife cut in a crowd, hidden and lockable zippers answer the quiet hand behind you on a metro, and RFID blocking answers the skimmer you never see at all. The picks below are grouped by which threat they handle best, so a packed commute, a sightseeing day in a pickpocket hotspot, and a cafe work session where the bag sits beside your chair each point to a different winner.

Pickpockets love tourists, and a standard backpack is an open invitation: zippers facing the crowd, straps that slice in one cut, cards readable through the pocket. Anti-theft backpacks answer with slash-proof materials, hidden zippers, locking compartments, and RFID blocking.

Below we rank the best anti-theft backpacks for 2027 by how seriously they take security versus how livable they are daily: the best lock in the world is useless on a bag you hate carrying.
